Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By using UniBuzz (the “Platform”), you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Platform. You must be at least 16 years old (13 in the United States).

2. Eligibility and Verification

The Platform is for students, alumni, faculty, and staff of participating universities. Your affiliation is verified when you join - through a university email, a document review, or an invitation - and until it is verified your account has limited access. This verification is what keeps the community real: every member you meet has been verified too.

3. Your Account

• Provide accurate information and keep it up to date. One account per person.
• You are responsible for your password and for activity under your account. Two-factor authentication is available and recommended.
• Tell us immediately at support@unibuzz.ai if you suspect unauthorized access.

4. Acceptable Use

Don't use the Platform to:

• Spam, harass, discriminate, impersonate, or defraud anyone.
• Post misleading, defamatory, or harmful content.
• Scrape data, run bots, or attempt unauthorized access to accounts or systems.
• Upload malware or interfere with the Platform's operation.
• Break any applicable law.

Violations can lead to content removal, suspension, or termination of your account, at our discretion.

5. Your Content

You own what you post. By posting, you give us the license needed to display and distribute your content on the Platform to the people you've shared it with. We may remove content that violates these Terms.

6. AI Features

Matching, suggestions, and drafted messages are AI-assisted. They can be wrong - use your own judgment before acting on them, and review anything drafted for you before sending it. You can limit AI processing of your profile in Settings.

7. Payments, Subscriptions, and Donations

Some features are paid. Prices are shown at checkout, are calculated by us, and may include applicable taxes. Payments are handled by third-party processors (Stripe, and where offered PayPal or Razorpay); paying means you also accept the processor's terms, and we never store your full card number.

• Subscriptions. A university may subscribe to provide UniBuzz to its community. Subscriptions renew automatically each billing period until cancelled; cancelling stops the next renewal and access continues to the end of the period already paid for. If a free trial is offered, it converts to a paid subscription unless cancelled before it ends, and one trial is available per subscriber.
• Donations. You can donate to fundraisers. UniBuzzfacilitates the payment and passes the funds to the fundraiser's beneficiary, and may retain a platform fee that is disclosed before you pay. Donations are generally non-refundable once processed.
• Event tickets. You can buy tickets to events. We collect the payment on behalf of the organizer, who is responsible for the event; refunds for tickets are at the organizer's discretion or as stated for the event.

Except where the law requires otherwise, subscription fees already paid are non-refundable. Failed payments or chargebacks may suspend the related access. For any billing question, contact support@unibuzz.ai.

8. Our Property

The Platform - its software, design, and branding - belongs to UniBuzz. These Terms don't give you any rights to it beyond using the product.

9. Termination

You can delete your account at any time from Settings - your personal data is then anonymized as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with notice where reasonably possible.

10. Disclaimers, Limitation of Liability, and Indemnification

The Platform is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.

No guarantee of outcomes. UniBuzz is a networking tool. We do not guarantee any job, internship, referral, interview, opportunity, mentorship, connection, response, or other outcome, and nothing on the Platform is a promise of employment or of any particular result.

Members and their content. We verify university affiliation but do not otherwise vet, endorse, or employ members, and we are not responsible for the accuracy of any profile, post, message, referral, or other content, or for the conduct, acts, or omissions of any member. Any referral, recommendation, introduction, mentorship, advice, opportunity, meeting, or dealing between members is solely between those members and is undertaken at their own risk. You are responsible for your own decisions and for exercising your own judgment, including independent verification, before relying on anything found through the Platform.

Not professional advice. Content on the Platform, including AI-generated suggestions, matches, and analyses, is for general informational purposes only and is not legal, financial, career, or other professional advice.

Limitation of liability. To the maximum extent permitted by law, UniBuzz and its owners, operators, and contributors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, opportunities, data, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of (or inability to use) the Platform - even if we have been advised of the possibility. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the Platform will not exceed the greater of (a) the amounts you paid us, if any, in the twelve (12) months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) CAD $100. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain of these exclusions or limitations, so some may not apply to you; in that case they apply to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Indemnification. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless UniBuzz and its owners and operators from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Platform, your content, or your breach of these Terms, of any law, or of the rights of others.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable in it.

12. Changes and Contact
